Classification system
How we label things
- DOCUMENTED
A real document, event, acknowledged program, witness testimony, government record, authenticated footage or other verifiable source exists.
- DISPUTED / UNRESOLVED
The event or report exists, but the explanation, authorship, interpretation or available evidence remains contested or incomplete.
- LORE / CLAIM
The story is culturally significant within UFO, paranormal, cryptid, disclosure or conspiracy communities but has not been independently established as fact.

The 2004 Nimitz Encounter
US Navy pilots flying with the USS Nimitz carrier group reported an object with no visible propulsion. The Department of Defense later confirmed the associated footage is authentic military video. What the object was remains officially unresolved.

Project Blue Book
The US Air Force ran a public UFO investigation program for seventeen years and archived thousands of reports. Most were explained. A few hundred were filed as unidentified and never resolved.

Roswell, 1947
The Roswell Army Air Field press office announced the recovery of a flying disc, then retracted it the same day. Decades later the Air Force attributed the debris to a Project Mogul balloon. Witness accounts and the official explanations still do not line up for everyone.
